Ronald J. Fields
is a critically acclaimed screenwriter, playwright
and best-selling author as well as a primetime television
writer. His many accomplishments include a national Emmy
for Best Documentary based on his grandfather’s life called,
W.C. Fields Straight Up; written by Mr. Fields and
co-produced by Ronald and Whyaduck Productions.
Ron has written three
books including W.C. Fields: By Himself, which was on
the NY Times bestseller list for 10 weeks, and has
contributed chapters in four other books including two
inspirational pieces in the Wake Up…Live the Life You
Love series of books.
Furthermore, his
writing credits include two off-Broadway plays, staff writer
for Marblehead Manor (an NBC Primetime
sit-com), a Night Court script, Head Writer for
American Movie Classics, and comic strip writer for the Los
Angeles Times Syndicate.
He wrote, co-wrote,
and/or Executive Produced seven films including Prey of
the Chameleon. He has made over 300 television and radio
appearances including Late Night with David Letterman,
The Tonight Show, The Today Show, CBS
Morning News, A&E Biography and the American
Movie Classics.
Ron has guest lectured
at over 250 Colleges, Universities and institutions
including the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, and The
Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Ron is a
member of the Writers’ Guild of America. In 2004 he was
contracted as a script re-writer for Come Away Home a
FilmCrest Pictures production released as a feature film in
2005.
Also for FilmCrest,
Fields re-wrote the script for Night Train: The Sonny
Liston Story and will receive full writing credit.
Presently, Mr. Fields has teamed up with Oscar nominated
director, Eugene S. Fowler (the grandson of W.C. Fields’
best friend and Pulitzer Prize winning author Gene Fowler)
to form Sweet Prince Entertainment.
They are in
negotiations for a number of feature film deals with major
stars and entertainment luminaries. Sweet Prince has begun
initial pre-production on a number of Mr. Fields’ original
scripts including the comedy A.T.M., the
psychological thriller ANY MEANS NECESSARY, and the
action/adventure THE PETALS OF THE CHRYSANTHEMUM.
Moreover, Sweet Prince
Entertainment has entered into negotiations with several
independent filmmakers to produce, re-write, and/or
Executive Produce quite a number of independent films and
television shows. Ronald is married with two young
children. |
